Hundreds race in honor of Trevor Fox

Hundreds of racers in the Northwest National Motor Cross Series are riding in memory of Trevor Fox.

The 11-year-old Irrigon motor cross rider was killed in a bike crash Thursday in West Richland. He was practicing for the weekend races.

The Benton County Coroner says he had severe chest injuries. Trevor died that same day.

It sent shock waves through a tight knit racing community.

The races continued in honor of Trevor. The event started with a memorial lap and a moment of silence.

Over 600 racers were speeding down the track in honor of Trevor.

As for track safety, Brian Barnes from Horn Rapids says, "There's absolutely no question about track safety. Horn Rapids Motorsports Complex does an excellent job with their flagging and their first aid staff."

Racers and their families continue to ride because they say that's what Trevor would want.
