C. Speck Motors Settles Claims

A Sunnyside car dealership decides to settle complaints over its sales practices, to avoid going to court.
The dealership called C. Speck operates new and used car lots in Sunnyside, Prosser and the Tri-Cities.
The attorney general recieved complaints from 14 customers claiming misleading sales and advertising practices.
Customers accuse C. Speck of changing loan terms after a car was sold, and refusing to honor verbal agreements.
The A.G.'s office began investigating in 2007 and says C. Speck's owners settled to avoid a costly lawsuit."In this circumstance, we had made allegations, and C. Speck thought or believed that it would be best to simply settle," says assistant attorney general Mary Lobdell.
In an email sent to KAPP-KVEW Local News, dealership owner Katy Moore says settling the lawsuit is not an admission of guilt.
The attorney general's office says as soon as it told the dealership about the accusations, the owners fired their general manager.
