KID Asks Customers to Alter Watering Schedule
The Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) announced yesterday that the water supply in the Yakima Basin will be below normal for the 2010 water season. They also stated that all junior water right holders will be prorated to 77 percent of their normal water supply. The Kennewick Irrigation District (KID) is a junior water rights holder.
KID is asking all rural and urban customers to water on an odd and even basis to help alleviate pressure problems and to ensure everyone receives adequate water availability. They are also asking all agricultural customers not to use more than their daily water allotment when ordering water.
