Two Fatal Accidents in Tri-Cities Saturday

There were two fatal accidents in the Tri-Cities Saturday.

The first occurred at 11:30 AM. 24-year old Trevor Petersen of West Richland failed to negotiate the curve from westbound I-182 to eastbound I-82. The car rolled and Petersen was ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The second took place at 10:30 PM and the WSP says that drugs and or alcohol were a factor. The cause is still under investigation. In this crash a car driven by 21 year old Favian Castro of Pasco was on eastbound I-182 at milepost 115 when it crossed the center median into the westbound lanes and rolled, coming to rest of the shoulder of the westbound lanes. 

21 year old Michael Hernandez of Pasco died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt. Castro was taken to Kadelc Regional Medical Center.

There were two other passengers. 22 year old Lucio Mendoza of Pasco was taken to Kennewick General Hospital while 23 year old Jose Carcamo of Pasco refused treatment and was released at the scene.
