A Kennewick builder just completed an energy efficient home in Pasco that's supposed to cut a family's energy bill by at least half.
This three bedroom home off of Road 60 has solar panels built that provide about half the energy for the home.
The builder says one of his goals was to make an energy efficient home that is also affordable.
Jonathan Jones who is the driving force behind this house says, "18 months to two years worth of research went into this house. Different wall concepts, energy efficiency, on-site generation concepts...researched them all."
The lights and water heating system are also energy efficient. The home just hit the market for a little under $300,000.
