Local radio station starts playing non-stop holiday hits
If you haven't started counting yet, we're now 45 days away from Christmas.
And a Tri-Cities radio station is already getting into the holiday spirit.
97.5, COOL-FM started playing holiday hits today.
They'll be playing the tunes 24 hours a day until midnight on Christmas Day.
This is the earliest the station has started playing the Christmas songs.
Employees say they started today because Santa needs some extra time to get all his gifts in order.
"Let's just say that we are using Santa's iPod. There are a lot of songs and we actually had a visit from one of his elves earlier this morning. They stopped by with the sleigh and they said, 'here, here's the iPod, borrow it'" said Barry Long, COOL-FM's program director.
This is the radio station's 7th year playing the Christmas songs.
