New High School Graduation Requirements Beginning With Class of 2016
Washington high school students hoping to graduate in 2016 and beyond will have to take more classes to receive a diploma.
The Washington Board of Education wants students to take another year of English classes, and another half-year of social studies.
Some school districts will be given more time to implement the requirements for their students graduating in 2018.
The extra classes will bring Washington more in line with high school graduation requirements of 45 other states.
