Two injured in shooting Saturday night near Selah
A teenage boy and adult male are injured by gunfire Saturday night north of Selah.
Deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office responded just after 7 p.m. to reports of shots fired and a gunshot victim located on the 900 block of Cabin Lane.
When deputies arrived, along with officers from the Selah and Union Gap Police Departments, a 14-year-old Hispanic boy was found suffering a gunshot wound.
Deputies also learned of a second victim, a 28-year-old Hispanic man, who was located on North Wenas Road near Hexon Road. He was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
Residents in the 900 block of Cabin Lane had just returned home when they say a light colored van followed them into their driveway without headlights. A confrontation with three people in the van and a verbal exchange took place. The people in the van then opened fire, at which two residents from Cablin Lane drew their weapons and returned fire.
The teenage boy was struck in the shoulder. The adult male was uncooperative and police say he claimed no knowledge of who shot him or what had taken place.
The van in question was later located at a home in the 500 block of Hull Road.
Both gunshot victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at local hospital.
Police believe this incident may be gang related and no arrests have been made at this time.
