UPDATE: Pedestrian hit on SR-240 identified
A man, trying to avoid contact from the Richland Police this morning, was hit by a car on State Route 240.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a complaint of disorderly conduct was called in at the Circle K store on Columbia Center Boulevard. When Richland Police went to investigate, the suspect, 20-year-old Adalberto Barragan, left the scene.
Barragan elluded police for a time, until he was struck by a car on State Route 240 in the westbound Lanes near Columbia Center Boulevard. The collision took place just before 5 a.m. this morning.
Barragan was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the car who hit Barragan, 19-year-old Colton Jones of Pasco, was injured and transported to Kennewick General Hospital.
