Last Hospital Beam Placed
A crowd gathered in Kennewick today to watch the last beam placed in the framework of Kennewick General Hospital's new Southridge facility.
The beam is signed by members of the KGH staff. When complete the new hospital have 74 private rooms including emergency and intensive care. The hospital construction has brought 250 jobs to the Tri-Cities and when complete will provide 100 new, permanent health care jobs.
The new hospital will replace KGH'S 60 year old facility in downtown kennewick. Crews broke ground last June and the hospital is currently ahead of schedule for it's opening in 2014.
