Yakima Employees Taking Pay Freezes
Yakima city council discussing budget proposal
Several managers within the City of Yakima departments are taking a pay freeze for next year.
City Manager Tony O'Rourke, who is also affected by the freeze, says it will save about 115 thousand dollars.
The pay freeze is part of the city's 2013 budget plan, which was approved earlier this week.
O'Rourke says he hopes to encourage more employees to have their pay frozen.
