A Wapato Woman Dies in Collision Sunday
A Wapato woman dies in a Yakima County crash yesterday.
It happened around 4PM at the intersection of Fort Road and South Wapato Road, just outside of Wapato.
A car driven by 67 year old Raul Garcia Birruette failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle. Birruette's passenger, 42 year old Engracia Castro Garcia died at the scene. A seven year old child in the other vehicle was also injured.
The Washington State Patrol says Birruette will be charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
