Richland Man Helps in Newtown
Richland man has just returned from Newtown, Connecticut. David Foster had just finished a training course for his job-- 40 minutes away in Northford, Connecticut when he found himself moved to drive to Newtown to help out and pray with the community.
Foster was one of the first so-called "spontaneous volunteers" for the Red Cross. He provided food to first responders, including one man, he believes an EMT who had children at the school. "He had 2 children, one in first grade and one in kindergarten and he was asked to be a first responder on site and asked to ID which victims were alive and which were not," says Foster.
As the father of an 8 year old daughter it was a heartwrenching experience for Foster to witness the grief of an entire community. Parker says in the weeks and months to come he hopes people in our community and across the country will remember Newtown; pray for them, write to them, let them know we share their grief.
