The city of Selah is now accepting applications for an open seat on the city council.

Mayor John Gawlik says council member Kevin Jorgensen is moving out of Selah city limits, which means he cannot hold his position with the city anymore.

The replacement, chosen by the city council, will have to go for re-election in November of 2013.

To apply, you must be 18, lived in the city for at least a year, and be registered to vote.

The deadline to apply is January 7th.
