Delvin sworn in as Benton Co. Commissioner
State Senator Jerome Delvin (R) is sworn in to his new position as Benton County Commissioner today.
Delvin was sworn in by his wife Josie Delvin, who is the Benton County Clerk.
Now, the search is on for Delvin's replacement.
The Benton County Republican's Precinct Committee will pick three candidates to take over his seat in Olympia.
Then, the Benton County commissioners, which includes Delvin, will choose one of those candidates.
Delvin says he's ready to get to work for the county.
"I'm looking forward to it. I think there's a lot of need in certain areas and certainly a lot of improvements that hopefully I can bring to the table for the county" said Delvin.
Delvin will continue to serve in the state legislature until a replacement is found.
He expects that to happen in about a month.
Delvin ran for county commissioner to be closer to his family.
