Convicted kidnapper sentenced to 35 years

A Umatilla man is sentenced to 35 years in prison yesterday for kidnapping and raping his ex-girlfriend.
29-year-old Alberto Martinez plead guilty to kidnapping his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend from the Hermiston Rite Aid on April 26th.
Martinez and his ex-girlfriend were later found at a cabin in Crescent Lake, Oregon.
After hours of negotiating, Martinez came out of the cabin using his ex-girlfriend as a human shield.
Authorities shot Martinez and his ex-girlfriend was able to safely escape.
