Sunnyside Coucil Passes 2013 Budget

Residents in sunnyside are going to see an increase in their utility taxes starting this new year.
Council members voted in favor of the 2013 budget 6 to 1 on Friday -- the budget includes raising the utility tax from 6 percent to 18 percent.
That means a person with a 100 dollar utility bill will have an 18 dollar tax on it.
The city is currently facing a budget deficit of about 2 million dollars.
