Sunnyside Residents to Vote on $5.3 Million Fire Bond
Sunnyside residents will decide in April whether to dig deeper into their pockets to double the size of the downtown fire station.
On Monday night the city council approved placing a $5.3 million bond on the April 17th ballot. The fire chief says the current fire station is outdated and too small to store newer, larger fire engines.
The station also needs more sleeping space to increase the number of firefighters on duty.
