Blue ribbon commission says U.S. should look for new waste storage options
A presidential commission says the United States should immediately start looking for a new home for the country's nuclear waste.
Waste from hazardous sites across the country, including Hanford, was supposed to go to Yucca Mountain - but the President scrapped the project.
After two years of research, a blue ribbon commission recommended the U.S. build temporary storage units to handle the waste until a permanent site is found.
Congressman Doc Hastings says the shutdown of Yucca Mountain is illegal.
