Local Restaurants Win Wine Awards

Four local restaurants received awards last night in Seattle for exceptional support of Washington wines and wine service.

Anthony's Restaurant in Richland and The Marc in Walla Walla each received the Washington Wine Grand Award for being considered industry leaders in support of the local wine industry.

Bon Vino's in Sunnyside and Katya's in Richland were given the Washington Wine Award of Distinction for dedication and commitment to the Washington wine industry.

The awards are hosted by the Washington Wine Commission each year.

Mike Tvedt, Anthony's General Manager, said the restaurant chain has been serving Washington wines for more than 30 years.

"The work that the Washington wineries have done over the last few years to produce world class wine has been fantastic," Tvedt said. "We consider that to continue for years to come and we will continue to support the Washington wine industry as long as we're here."

The awards have been held since 2002, The Metropolitan Grill in Seattle won the Washington Wine Restaurant of the Year Award.
