State softball 2012: Walla Walla

A perfect season. That is what it took yesterday to stop Walla Walla from back-to-back state championships.

Woodinville capped off their perfect season with a 6-0 victory in the state championship game over Walla Walla. The Blue Devils ran into a buzz-saw of a pitcher in Falcons' starter, Madi Schreyer. The offense sputtered as Schreyer pitched a masterful game. Walla Walla could only manage three hits off of the Canadian Junior National Softball team member.

Blue Devils' starter, Alyson Ambler, kept her team in it for as long as she could, despite giving up two quick runs in the first inning. The potent Falcons offense kept pecking away on their way to the win and the state championship. They finished the season 26-0. Walla Walla's final record is 26-2.
