State senator Jerome Delvin (R) is preparing to start his new job as a Benton County commissioner.

But the question now, is who will fill Delvin's seat in the state legislature when he changes offices?

Delvin says after he's sworn in as county commissioner in January, the Benton County Republican Precinct Committee Officers will pick three candidates to take his seat in Olympia.

The Benton County commissioners will then pick one of those candidates to replace Delvin.

"I'll still go to Olympia now and then to work for the county issues, and be an advocate for Benton County. But yeah, there's going to be some changes, challenges and again, new opportunities too" said Delvin.

Delvin says he will continue to serve in the state legislature until a replacement is found.

He ran for county commissioner to be closer to his family.
