RSD Reconsiders Jefferson Elementary
The Richland School Board is reconsidering a decision to close Jefferson Elementary school, after protests from parents.
The board has approved a 98 million dollar bond to go on the February 2013 ballot. The way the bond is currently written, Jefferson would close and become the new site the Homelink homeschooling program, and three other elementary schools would be remodeled and expanded.
At a meeting last night the board considered other options to closing Jefferson. Parents will have a chance to comment at the school board meeting next Tuesday at 6:30.
