Selah City Council Holds Public Hearing For Utility Tax Increase Proposal

The city of Selah holds a public hearing for a proposed utility tax increase today.
City Administrator, David Kelly, is proposing the utility tax to the city council -- Kelly is suggesting the city decreases the rates for water, sewer, and garbage, but increases the tax on it from 6 to 20 percent.
Kelly says the tax money will help pay off a 5 million dollar bond for a swimming pool 10 years ago.
The hearing began at four.
The city has until the end of the year to approve a 2013 budget.
