Up to 500 Gallons Leak From Hanford Tank
Up to 520 gallons of radioactive waste has leaked from the inner shell of a double-shelled tank holding radioactive waste at the Hanford site.
A 444 page report released by the Department of Energy yesterday says welds in the the inner tank 40 years ago didn't meet standards and were repaired multiple times.
Then in the 1980's waste was added that likely corroded the bottom of the tank.
Hanford officials say so far they've found no nuclear waste leaking from the outer tank into the enviroment.
