Lemon Case Sent to Yakima County Prosecutor
The Union Gap police department has concluded its investigation into an altercation between Mayor Jim Lemon and another city employee which took place last Thursday.
That report has now been forwarded to the Yakima County prosecutors office for review, to see if any charges will be filed against Lemon.
Lemon is now prohibited from coming to work at city hall because the city has filed a no tresspassing order against him.
On election day, Union Gap voters approved a change in city government from strong mayor to strong council/city manager, which will take effect once the elction is certified next week. City administrator Chris Jensen will run the city on a day to day basis until a permanent city manager is hired.
