Utility Rates Increasing For Richland Customers
At last nights meeting the Richland City Council approved a utility rate increase.
Richland Energy Services says prices have gone up by 21 percent and in order to meet the expenses and create revenue they had to bump up prices.
The City of Richland's energy services say homeowners will see a 8.9 percent increase each month beginning January 1st, which means electrical bill of 100 dollars would increase by almost 9 dollars a month.
For commercial businesses the rate will jump anywhere from 7 to 20 percent per month.
The new rate increase is expected to bring in about $5.9 million dollars in revenue.
