Man accused of killing corrections officer pleads not guilty
A man accused of murdering a Umatilla County corrections officer pleads not guilty nearly a year after the crime.
Joshua Weeks is charged with nine counts, including aggravated murder, in the death of 42 year-old Buddy Herron.
Weeks entered the not guilty plea after a plea deal failed between the state and Weeks' atorneys.
Investigators believe Weeks killed Herron along Highway 11 last November.
According to court documents, Weeks stabbed Herron and stole his car.
Weeks' trial is scheduled to start in September 2013.
