Veterans gather at CBC for work, health care assistance
Dozens of veterans looking for work and health care assistance were at Columbia Basin College today to see what resources are available to them.
More than 20 organizations were on hand at the college for a veterans fair today.
Organizers say many veterans don't like asking for help, so events like this make it easy for them to get the assistance they need, so they can get back on their feet.
"I spent the last two years going to college here, but I graduated in August. So now, I'm out of school, out of a job, have no medical benefits or anything like that. I'm just trying to get some help with prescriptions and dental and eye care and everything else" said Billy Jones, Army veteran.
Organizers say there are nearly 19,000 veterans in the Mid-Columbia.
