Man Arrested For Breaking Into Apartment, Kidnapping Child

 A 22 year old Pasco man is arrested after forcing his way into his estranged wife's apartment, assaulting her, and taking the couple's three year old child. The complete release from the Kennewick PD is below:


On 10/20/2012 Officers from the Kennewick Police Department responded to 601 S. Kent St. for a residential burglary and custodial kidnapping of a 3 year of age child.


Bertoldo Bustos is alleged to have forced his way into the apartment of his estranged wife.  There was a valid no contact order in place at the time of the incident.  Once inside the apartment Bustos physically assaulted his wife and then took their 3 year of age daughter.


Bustos left the apartment with the child.   He was last seen driving a silver 2006 Chrysler Pacifica bearing Washington license AGA5862.


At approximately 1700 hours the suspect vehicle was spotted on Highway 12 near Burbank.  Bustos let the child out of the vehicle and then fled from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.  Bustos and the vehicle were located a short time later by the Washington State Patrol and Bustos was arrested.


Bustos was booked into the Benton County Jail for burglary 1st degree, kidnap 2nd degree, assault 2nd degree and felony violation of a no contact order.
