Arrest made in connection with Ellensburg vehicle thefts

An Ellensburg man is arrested this morning in connection with recent vehicle thefts in the area.

Police arrested 31-year-old Nicholas Compton after observing suspicious activity around 3 a.m. today on the 200 block of South Pine Street which resulted in an officer making contact with Compton inside a reported stolen vehicle.

Compton had property and documents on him and in the stolen car connecting him with recent stolen vehicles and thefts from Ellensburg and Central Washington University.

Compton was booked into the Kittitas County Corrections Center for possession of a stolen vehicle and other stolen property.
