New attorney, judge assigned to Craigen murder case
A man accused of killing his neighbor near Milton-Freewater last year gets a new attorney to represent him in his upcoming trial.
George West Craigen is accused of killing 58 year-old Rob Carter at Carter's plumbing shop last December.
An attorney from Bend, Oregon, Brendon Alexander, has been appointed to represent Craigen.
A new judge from Union County, Russell West, will also take over the case.
Last month, Craigen asked for a new attorney due to a breakdown in communication, and the previous judge disqualified herself because she said she has an intimate knowledge of the case.
Craigen's trial will still take place in Umatilla County.
