Roads Being Closed Near Yakima Memorial
People in Yakima may see a lot of confused drivers causing traffic in the neighborhood around Yakima Memorial Hospital tomorrow.
The City of Yakima will be closing off two of the hospital's northern entrances on 29th and 30 Avenues.
The closure is intended to cut down through traffic in nearby neighborhoods -- it is also part of Memorial's campus master plan agreement with the city.
One resident says his neighborhood may finally have some peace and quiet.
"I'm glad it's being blocked off to cut down on the traffic. Sometimes you get people going through here rather fast, and they'll heist it on those bumps there and stuff. So the traffic will be better," said Tom McLean.
People will be able to access Yakima Memorial through south 28th and 30th Avenues from Tieton Drive.
