Sunnyside Gang Unit Busts Theft Rings

During the month of October the Sunnyside Gang Unit has arrested multiple suspects in three separate theft/burglary rings. All the arrests stem from the Gang Unit contacting subjects on other violations and through further investigations, information lead them to solving multiple burglaries, thefts and automobile thefts.
The first incident occurred on October 6th when the Gang Unit contacted a residence on Decatur Ave in Sunnyside in an attempt to locate a robbery suspect. Upon locating the suspect they observed drugs inside the residence. Gang Officers obtained a search warrant and while serving it located a large amount of stolen items that had been taken in multiple burglaries and car prowls that had occurred hours earlier in Benton County. The items were turned over to Benton County and 5 suspects were taken into custody.
The next incident occurred on October 26th, when the Gang Unit received information of a Benton County fugitive hiding at a residence in the area of Grant and 16th Streets. Upon arriving they located 2 subjects hiding and several stolen items that had been taken in four recent car prowls within the City of Sunnyside. Through follow up investigation they were able to solve additional car prowls and take a total of 4 suspects into custody.
On October 30th, the Gang Unit was on patrol when they stopped a vehicle. Upon contact they identified 4 suspects in the vehicle with warrants, all 4 were arrested. During a search of the vehicle Officers located a large amount of property. After further investigation it was discovered that the property was stolen in a burglary that had occurred in the Toppenish area hours earlier.
The Gang Officers continued to investigate and were able to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the City of Sunnyside. Upon serving the warrant they located a sawed off rifle, a stolen vehicle and additional stolen property. 5 additional subjects were taken into custody, and additional information was obtained that lead to an additional stolen vehicle.
All suspects arrested are documented gang members or gang associates.
