Air Quality Improving In Benton County
Smoke from the fires can be seen in the air across much of Eastern Washington.
Unhealthy air quality is expected to continue in Yakima and Kittitas Counties through at least the middle of the week.
In the tri-cities area the Benton Clean Air Agency is hopeful that winds will completely clear up the smoke within a few days.
For now groups of people sensitive to the smoke should limit their outdoor activities.
"Mostly the elderly, children, people with COPD, we encourage them to stay indoors but we are starting to see quite a bit of improvement so they can get back to their normal lives about now," says air quality specialist Tyler Thompson.
