Decorations arrive for Carousel of Dreams project
The Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick moves closer to reality as new decorations for the project arrive in town.
Yesterday, the Carousel Foundation received five crates of items for the actual production of the carousel.
The crates are full of rounding boards, medallions, mirrors and lights.
The decorations were manufactured at Carousel Works in Mansfield, Ohio.
Tri-City photographer John Clement will create most of the artwork for the massive project.
"There's 18 panels on a rounding board, and we've whittled it down to 20 pieces of artwork form him and local artists here that depict agriculture, the Wallula Gap, things within our region here that are gonna go on each one of those rounding boards" said Eric Van Winkle, Carousel Foundation.
The foundation has raised about two-thirds of the $1.85 million needed for the project.
The carousel is expected to open this summer.
