Minor Flooding Expected Near Naches
Yakima County Emergency Management is reminding people to be prepared for potential flooding as we head into the weekend.
The county says the Naches River is expected to reach flood levels near Naches by the end of the day, and should continue at that level through the weekend.
Crews have been out to different parts of the river, surveying levies -- one area people should try to avoid this flood season is the Ramblers Park area near Gleed.
"Rambler's Park is the priority if you will, because the levy is low there," said County Emergency Management Director Jim Hall, "I know our flood control zone district is working on that problem, and I think within a while, you'll see that flood level go back up to where it was here a year or two ago."
