Animal Fighting Suspect Could Face 5 Years in Prison

Charges are filed against a man suspected of promoting a cock fight in Zillah over the weekend.

Prosecutors say they have filed animal fighting charges against Andres Ramirez, who allegedly hosted the event at a home on East Centiennial Drive.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office originally reported over a thousand people were found at the home that night, but says that number was closer to about 200 people.

If convicted, Ramirez could face up to 5 years in prison -- he will be back in court in two weeks.
