Search Warrant Leads to Discovery of Drugs, 3 Arrests in Hermiston

Hermiston Police arrest three people last night on drug possession charges and endangering the welfare of four small children.

It all started when police were attempting to locate 24-year-old Tarra Johnson of Hermiston at the Sunset Motel located on the 400 block North 1st Street.  Johnson, who had a warrant for her arrest, was located at the motel.  During their investigation, officers could smell a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the hotel room which also had four small children and two adult men inside.

Along with Johnson, 21-year-old Adam Saad of Hermiston and 51-year-old Rodney Virgil of Hermiston, were arrested.  All have been charged with possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor.

All three have been lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.

The Department of Human Services assisted with taking the four children ranging from a newborn to 6 years old, into protective custody.
