Port of Seattle Visits Local Areas
Members from the Port of Seattle visit Yakima this afternoon to address key issues with local exporters and business organizations.
It's part of the port's 3-day tour throughout Eastern Washington to address certain key issues in different areas throughout Washington state.
Commissioners highlighted the importance of mantaining transportation infrastructure to keep up with export demands, and working to bring in more tourists to our region.
"Tourism is the fourth largest sector in our state; it creates hundreds of thousands of jobs around the state," said port commissioner Bill Bryant, "A lot of those are run by small businesses, and all of the ports need to work to make sure that we bring more tourists to this area."
The Port of Seattle Commission also made visits to exporters and businesses in Ellensburg, Walla Walla, and Kennewick.
