Feds arrest people in alleged cockfighting ring
Federal agents arrest a Morrow County couple and several others in connection with an alleged cockfighting ring.
Indictments unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Portland charge 67-year-old John Wesley Walker and his wife, 60-year-old Irina Walker, with holding cockfighting derbies where people gambled illegally at their ranch outside the town of Irrigon.
The Walkers and four other people from Irrigon and Hermiston are to be arraigned in federal court in Portland tomorrow on charges of operating an illegal gambling business.
Twelve others from Oregon and Washington face lesser charges.
