WSU TC First Day of School
It's the first day of school for the students of Washington State University Tri-Cities and this year there may be more students there than ever before.
According the to the university, WSU Tri-Cities is expecting more students than they had last year.
Last year there were 1,400 students enrolled at the school and with an anticipated record breaking freshman class this year, the school had to add several general education classes like math and science in order to accomodate everyone.
The university said the school has been growing non-stop ever since they began enrolling freshman and sophomore students in 2007, the year before that, there were roughly 1,100 students enrolled on campus.
The university is also expecting numbers of diversity among students to increase this year.
Last year alone, WSU Tri-Cities had a 26% diversity rate, compared to about 10% in 2006.
Official enrollment numbers for this semester will be released at the end of the month.
