Dedication Ceremoney for Colonel Franklin Matthias
A dedication ceremony will take place tomorrow in honor of Colonel Franklin Matthias, the man credited with building Hanford.
Matthias was an Army Commander at the Hanford site during World War II and one of the three original people to scout and recommend the site for the nations first full-size plutonium production plants.
It's public recognition for the man who managed the largest construction project of WWII.
A bronze bust of the late Matthias was recenlty installed at the Richland City Library, where the dedication kicks off at 11 a.m.
