A New Ordinance for Pasco?
Panhandling and soliciting could be an issue taking center stage next week at the City of Pasco council meeting.
Council members tonight said they are planning at looking at specific safety issues at busy intersections like Road 68, and could institute new a new ordinance.
Currently, the only City of Pasco law prohibits people from blocking traffic.
But panhandlers and organizations alike are able to solicit donations, as in the case of Fill-the-Boot for muscular dystrophy, which has been taking place all over Eastern Washington for the past several weeks.

Most agreed keeping people off busy streets is a concern and the issue could be put to a vote next week.
Kennewick passed an ordinance limiting panhandling at some busy intersections earlier this year.
