The Benton County Fire District #1 has released the fire danger rating for the county following the recent wet weather.

Despite the thunder and rain storms this past week, Benton County is still rated at VERY HIGH fire danger.

Lt. Aaron Bibe says after checking the burn index and energy release quotient, the district has determined that the fuels are still dry enough to potentially be problematic.

He also says, "Cooler and wetter weather is possible early next week, but for now there is still NO residential burning except recreational and warming fires. However, approved agricultural burning is still allowed at this time."
