Man Stabbed in Sunnyside, Suspect Arrested

Sunnyside Police arrest a 24-year-old man accused of stabbing his stepfather last night following an argument.

Officers say the stabbing occurred around 9:30 PM on the 800 block of Madison Drive.

The victim says his stepson, Emmanuel Rivera, stabbed him because he refused to give him money to purchase marijuana.

A knife was recovered at the scene and processed as evident.

The victim's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Rivera was transported to the Sunnyside Police Department where he was booked for assault first degree domestic violence.

The case is not gang related.
