PSD enrollment numbers continue to climb

The Pasco School District continues to grow, as more than 9,000 Kindergarten - 6th grade students filled classrooms Tuesday for the first day of school.

A total of 9,156 K - 6 students showed up for the first day of classes, that's 436 more students than the first day of school last year, or an increase of 5%.

1,034 new high school freshman showed up for classes Tuesday as well.

District administrators say for more than a decade, the district’s enrollment has continued to increase over the first several weeks of school.

Enrollment numbers for all grades will be posted daily during the first week of school on the Pasco School District's website, and numbers will be released to the media at approximately 4 PM each day.
