New Outdoor Skating Rink in Downtown Kennewick
A new outdoor ice skating rink is coming to downtown Kennewick this weekend for the holiday season.
The synthetic skating rink will be at centennial flag plaza, at the corner of benton street and kennewick avenue.
Public ice skating is allowed throughout the day this saturday and sunday and again on Dec. 20th and 21st.
This is the first year the rink has been built and Tim Dalton, executive director of the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership said the city plans to have it year after year to give the downtown area the holiday spirit.
"We started thinking about it and thought what could make us cool, something a little different," said Dalton. "I started looking at the parking lot and thought why not Rockefeller Center in Kennewick."
Skating is free. Skate rentals are $4.
