Americans Hand out Teddy Bear Toss Bears at Local Hospitals

The Americans are handing out teddy bears and smiles to kids at local hospitals.

Players Eric Comrie and Brian Williams spend their morning making door to door visits with kids and passing out teddy bears from Friday night's teddy bear toss.

They took a bag of 50 bears each to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and Trios Health.

The players spend time talking with the kids and their families, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Nicole Polus, a friend of RJ one of the patients. Said once the Americans walked into the room she could tell RJ- felt a little bit better and definitely special. "It made his day to see them. It made his so happy for them to come and visit him and give him this cute wonderful little bear and it just brought a lot of joy to his heart. Made me cry. He deerves it hes been really sick but feeling a little better today," said Polus.

Comrie says this really started with the fans and all of their teddy bear donations and he feels honored to be one of the people who gets to pass them along to the kids.

The Americans recieved 25,000 bears total.

About 1,00 of those are going to toys for tots while ther others will be donated to various local charities
