Energy Northwest Employees Giving Back
Energy Northwest employees are getting into the holiday spirit by dressing up as Santa Claus and his elves and handing out presents to more than 400 children in the Benton Franklin head start program at the Children's Developmental Center in Richland.
They decided to throw a party.
A few different Santa's and their helpers show up to classrooms and hand each kid a few gifts they will take and be able to open Christmas morning.
The employee-purchased gifts include everything from clothes to toys.
The kids said they had a great time and the employees said they enjoy supporting a educational program that literally gives kids a head start.
"Early education is very important to Energy Northwest and it's a great way to give back to the community," said Jessica Hansen of Energy Northwest.
Energy Northwest is throwing a total of 11 different parties in schools throughout Benton and Franklin counties today and tomorrow.
